What you’ll be doing:

Storage Administrator will be a part of a team of highly skilled IT Professionals with orientation to Storage (Block,NAS, Filesystem Appliances / SW Based Solutions)  that are responsible for creating testing beds similar to customers environments and special network/storage/security configurations. This is a challenging but crucial engineering task since customer environments might be complicated , and coupled with many industry level integration domains , and built for large scale / business needs. Together with the QA teams, you will be responsible for getting requirements from several Weka Mid-Large scale customers, Refine the needed properties of the setup needs , and establish the environment in a way that will reflect a similar workload and then will be served for quality coverage tests led by the QA focal points. which is a core requirement of any enterprise storage product and is vital to its success.

You will act independently and as part of a team (agile / scrum), to test relevant beta versions released periodically and document defects found in our code while utilizing customer oriented scenarios of the refined setups, and being SREs for strategic customer environments.  

 

As Storage Admin, you’ll:

  • Implement 3rd party vendors solutions e.g. Fileservers, Network setups,security policies,various application types and workload as part of integration to our storage products. 
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of a customer - complex, clustered system and be able to accurately analyze HW requirements , Special Configurations in these environments.  
  • Collaborate with the QA engineering teams in order to identify and analyze setup properties, as well as providing the setups for cycles of QA coverage , track the results and audit them. 
  • Track defects found from start to resolution and verification, as well as work through the JIRA workflow to provide meaningful test results on individual tickets;
  • Act as a storage staging focal point who understands the terminology,weak points of the system, involved with protocols, configurations, architecture, and practicalities in the industry of storage technology.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in the IT department working through Storage domains, Networking and Security focused areas in Large capacities, with high demand for business continuity and quick problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to work full time. As part of staging engineer in collaboration with QA teams at System QA department.
  • Keep engagement up with a high-speed development process and ongoing deliveries, executing and adjusting your testing activities accordingly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with outstanding attention to details in the system.
  • Great interpersonal skills working through Customer Support departments in order to collect Customer Properties , and often Customer sites themselves. 
  • Fluent english - a Must
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and networking - A Must.
  • Microsoft and Windows in particular knowledge – Advantage.
  • Familiarity with Git - Advantage.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies - Advantage.
